To change your mindset, you first have to recognize what language and from what perspective your mind is speaking.
Mindset Matters
Let me illustrate this point. When you were a child, did you have the same set of brain pathways for playing with blocks, coloring, writing, and thinking as you do for social media, online shopping, or gaming? It's natural for your mind to be programmed to learn new ways of thinking as you interact with the world around you. But it takes awareness and intentional effort to put the blocks and crayons away and reach for the electronics. The simplest way to remind yourself that you are not in control is to simply change your mental posture. Your Mindset Imprint Is Strong. When we look at a problem and feel that we don't have the right tools or the right skill set to figure it out, we often succumb to the pressure to panic.
Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
For one, remember that your perspective matters. How you see yourself versus how the people around you perceive you are, at its core, a belief that you hold. That belief will define the decisions you make and how you view yourself in your everyday life. Simply put, by worrying about being compared to other people you're not focused on your most important business and personal goals. When you compare yourself to other people, you lose the power of deciding your actions, in your life, and your business. It's hard to take a loss personally. And that's because it has nothing to do with you. However, taking a loss personally can hurt your personal and professional success.
Stay Present
One of the first things you must do to stay positive and energized throughout your day is to remain present and aware of what is occurring right in front of you. A lot of times, we are immersed in thoughts about how life is going to be, what we should have done or should be doing, and our daily plans for the future. Yet, the first step in staying positive and energized is to simply remain aware. The opposite of being present is called being out of the moment. One of the most effective ways to remain present is to use what is called 'mindfulness. As a reminder, mindfulness is a mental process that enables us to observe our thoughts, feelings, and body without reacting to them. It also teaches us how to be in the moment and take everything in. Sounds simple, right?
Practice Gratitude
Take a moment to mentally write down a list of all the things for which you are grateful. Start with things you can do every day such as breathing deeply and feeling a little calmer, then build on that. Say "Thank You" We can be full of negative thoughts and feel like we are in a negative universe and what we see, hear, and feel is a completely different reality from the one around us. Try to shift your perspective a bit. Try to look at yourself differently. Try this for a few days to help shift your perspective. What if every day, before you even leave the house, you said to yourself "I am going to feel great, do great things, and have a great day today!"? Be Kind To Yourself. Everyone does not look the same, think the same, or have the same life experience.
Cut Out Negativity
This sounds easy enough. But let's just say, for example, that you're looking for a new job. Your mind probably thinks something like this: "I'm not qualified, and the firm is not going to hire me, anyway. They want someone 'cooler' than me. I am just too old-school, too 'old school' to fit in with them. I'm no good at going on interviews and the process is very tedious. I can't handle all the details." You would be very far from the truth in your interpretation of what is going on. In reality, these things are more like this: "I'm qualified and there's no way that I'm not getting the job. I interviewed incredibly well and put mine all into the interview. I was very honest with my answers and I think I impressed the interviewer with how well I understood the role.
Choose Your Friends Wisely
When you are depressed or suicidal, it's tempting to call on those who share your disposition to help you. Being around depressed people often breeds negative thoughts or behaviors that may be ingrained in you from your family's negative experiences. If you are struggling, it is wise to only seek out those who are supportive and helpful. Find people who will hold you accountable. Get Healthy and Get Out of the House. You may feel comfortable with people who are depressed, but the same habits and mindsets are likely to follow you anywhere. If you want to stay positive, it is important to take care of yourself and get involved in healthy activities. This can include anything from exercising to exploring different groups and communities on social media.
Set Goals That Inspire You
Keep your motivation alive and do not allow it to slide. Most of the time, our goals are set too high and we fall short, which leads us to give up before we start. To truly inspire yourself to succeed, set goals that speak to your interests. If you like socializing or want to write a book, then look at what's inspiring you and where you can take it to the next level. Simplify By simplifying your life and focusing on the smaller things, you can refocus your energy and remain motivated. Minimizing distractions can make your days more productive and prevent you from drifting off into procrastination and depression. Practice mindfulness by being present in the moment and being aware of your surroundings can go a long way in the direction of success.
